Why do people gang up on other people?

medical supply
tangerine(RIP Aussie arson vics) asked:

Many years ago, my mother worked at a medical supply company in a small town. There was a woman who worked there who had been involved in a scandal a year or two before. She had been caught having sex with a well-respected, widowed Baptist minister at a local church. Not surprisingly, the minister was removed from his post shortly thereafter. However, when this woman came to work at the company, a group of other women ganged up on her by making snide comments and references to the scandal to her face. These bitches were so vicious, the poor woman eventually had a nervous breakdown! Why did they gang up on her? Her affair with the minister was no skin off their noses!
To sheilajones3: How does the “eye for an eye” rule apply here? The woman did nothing to those skanks.

Some bullies never really grow up. Besides, finding fault in someone else makes you look better to yourself! Remember, when you point your finger at someone else, your own thumb is pointing right back at you!

It made those other women feel powerful. Bullies bully because of low self esteem. Hurting others makes them feel like they have some control.

The woman having the affair was no different than those who ganged up on her. They are living old testament rules, “an eye for an eye” and even though all three parties were wrong, something like that should have never gotten out in the first place. he should have been dismissed without knowledge of the affair having gone on in the first place

Mostly people gang up on others just to show them their power, unity, to blame them and depress them

They do not do so for a particular reason but because it gives them happiness and satisfaction only a few do it for a reason

Cowards run in packs! None of those women, individually, would have had the guts to do anything to her. And they probably “care’ because they don’t have lives of their own. They have to live thru someone else’s drama!
