Where is a good place to start over?

Lindy S asked:

I know this is a tough one. My husband and I both have lost our jobs and now are about to lose our home. We have searched time and time again for work in our area and nothing. My husband is an auto-tech and I worked a medical supplies warehouse. We have 3 kids. Our son has Autism, so quality education is a must. We are currently in MN. Where we are there are no good Autism programs locally.
We do not need a ton of money, we just need to be comfortable where we are.

The Washington, DC area is considered recession proof because of all of the government workers who are rarely fired. As a result, you and your husband should be able to find work in this area. I suggest you buy a Sunday issue of the Washington Post and look at the Help Wanted ads. You can find inexpensive housing in Prince Georges County, MD or Fairfax, VA.

I live in Trenton, OH. You can live here pretty inexpensively. There is also a good school system here.
