Congratz on aspiring to be a vet, but that is also a huge time commitment and this means you will have little time to care for your dog. Great Dane's are a great companion, but be warned of possible medical problems. Because of their size, they need alot of room. Also, they don't do stairs well. If you are still committed to adding one to your family who will likely share the responsiblity you can try locating one to adopt at petfinder.com.
