I do not recommend buying one at a retail store such as walmart or target as they do not work well at all, Remember that these Doppler's can cause much alarm when there is no reason to worry as heat beats vary depending on location, device ect. I would start by calling the hospital then asking your doc! I rented two from the hospital. Good luck! A friend of mine did this and is was way more cost effective than buying one. You may also be able to purchase one used from these sites. I am not 100% on that but, it does seem likely.
