What medical programs are there that only require a certificate or one year of education?

I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and have been trying to get into pharmaceutical sales. Due to the economy, no luck there! So I’ve decided to do something in the medical field since I would be almost guaranteed to find a job. I have just done four years in school and don’t want to do a lot more! Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

UNfortunately, any short certificate programs will be extremely entry level (such as medical assistant, nursing assistant, monitor tech, ECG tech, etc); because anything else you might now have enough of the pre-regs with a psych bachelors; but bachelors or an associates level +/- 1 year training (with the science background) are respiratory tech, lab tech, histotech, cytotech, xray (MRI, CT etc), nursing, many of the therapists & assistants (occupational.physical assistant). Surgi tech if you want the OR. You could browse a hospital directory & find more. Diane A

Do you have anatomy, physiology and biology? These are the main pre-requisites to most worthwhile careers in health care. If you do have these, why don’t you just get a masters in nursing. Because you have a bachelors, you may be able to find a fast-track program for registered nursing. i dont know if the fast track program is contingent on you already having the above sciences, or not. check colleges in your area for this fast-track or accelerated RN program : ) loveloreal
