The ones sold in a fitness store will likely be more flexible because it's designed for support while moving during weight training or exercises and the overall design may be different. A woman friend of mine, who's a personal trainer and very fit herself, wears one on her left arm. It starts at her knuckles and goes to her shoulder. She's lost lymph nodes under left arm from breast cancer and has a lymphodema condition on that arm..That one is a medical compression garment and it's very stiff. She wouldn't feel very comfortable doing curls with it on. I'd do some comparison shopping but pay attention to the type of construction of the garment. They are different even though they may look a lot alike.
