What is a medical condition that is purely emotionally caused?

medical
Mo asked:

Is there any medical conditions that can be caused by being emotionally devastated? If it helps, something similar to what happened to Bella in New Moon. If you can, use the medical term.

According to doctors, anything that they cannot quickly answer is a result of stress. A co-worker of mine was told that symptoms resulted from stress for years until he was finally diagnosed with MS. Message boards are full of people who were told that symptoms resulted from stress for years until they were finally properly diagnosed. If it cannot be seen or measured, a dr. can claim that it comes from stress. Of course, some things can be caused by stress too. Where the balance lies, you got me. These are things drs. claim can be caused from stress (that I know of): pain, muscle spasms, urinary and bowel issues, fatigue, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues, numbness, metabolic issues, amenorrhea, memory issues, and pretty much anything that cannot explain. Good luck! jacie0304
