Jenny asked: What is the best reason to go to medical school? Sometimes, I am attracted to the prospect of attending medical school . . . simply because of the social prestige, job security, and high salary associated with the profession. Is this a good reason to attend medical school?

K asked: I am hoping to get accepted into medical school to become a doctor but of course I am worried that I may not get accepted. Therefore, what are some medical careers that don’t require medical school? Besides nursing.

jayshay22 asked: I’m a junior in High school and for a while now I have been trying to figure out exactly how going to a regular college then to a medical school works. I want to become an oncologist, but I don’t know where to start exactly, no one has been very clear to me. How many years of regular college do you have to take before you can go to medical school? And what majors do you need to take? And how many years of Medical school do you have to go through?

asked: Plenty of students who should be able to attend medical school are not allowed to because medical schools only admit a small number of students every year. Why do they not expand? The number of new doctors has remained pretty constant throughout the years.

Ken asked:
About half of the medical schools recommend or strongly recommend Biochemistry and a very few require it. If a person does not take biochemistry does this hurt their chances a lot? Since there are so many applicants, there must be a huge supply of people who have taken the class and therefore have a greater advantage than you. They would not choose you because there is already someone with the same grades and mcat as you so why wouldn’t they take him?

Chris asked: I have currently taken all classes that are required to take the MCATs, and I see no point in wasting four years in college repeating such courses. The only field I am not familiar with is premedical studies, which medical schools do not require.
Is it possible to apply for medical school this senior year? I am an International Baccalaureate student in Chicago, and I should be filling out applications for college soon.
Lastly, if anyone knows what steps are necessary to attend medical school as soon as possible, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
