		<description>Sadly, very little in the new Star Trek movie has anything to do with the original series or previous movies.  For instance, the computer monitor in sick bay.  Most departments on the ships and crew quarters have monitors...and they are called monitors on the shows.  They are for communication as well as accessing the ship's computer and libraries.

The most used devices in sickbay is the medical tricorder, hypo-spray and the bio-scan bed (called a micro-diagnostic table in the original movies.)  I don't recall ever seeing private beds in sickbay in any of the shows.  But according to Mr Scott's Guide to the Enterprise, the sickbay drawings seem to show dividers between the beds.

Voyager and the Next Generation have the best scenes and information regarding sickbay....
