Seeking org working w/ the National Guard to bring medical supplies to South America. Is it mano-mano of MN?
I need to get supplies to Peru. Equipment to enable local people to start their own business. Things like computers, leather working tools, sewing machines, and of course clothing. We are part of an organization called Friends of Peru. www.friendsofperu.com
I heard there was an organization called Mano-Mano or something out of Minnesota that ships things down to South America in containers through the National Guard. I searched online phone directories as well as Yahoo and Google searches with no luck.

Have you considered joining a disaster relief agency, perhaps as an individual volunteer or part-time employee?
One agency I know our government calls on in times of crisis also works tirelessly around the world meeting a variety of needs.
This and other disaster relief agencies may be worth contacting if you don’t find what you’re looking for. I’d contact only those that are well-known and have sterling reputations, though.
If this resource is not what you’re looking for in this particular situation, you’ll still find the following website interesting, I think.
The Peruvian Congress awarded a Medal of Honor to ADRA International in ‘05. ADRA has been working in Peru since 1965. They are in many other South American countries, too.
Perhaps you will decide on a career change at some point, if this type of work appeals to you. I noticed there’s an employment link on the ADRA homepage.
Good luck.
