RockNRollChick asked:

We Have Had Horses For A Little Over 6 Years, But This Is Our First Baby :-) He Is A Full Blooded American Paint.

What I Was Wanting To Know Was What All Do You Need (Or What Would You Want) To Have? (Medical Supplies, Training Supplies, Supplements, Vitamins) You Know Stuff To Help Him Grow & Keep Him Healthy. Maybe If Someone Could List A Supplies List; Or List A Website….?

Thanks & God Bless! ♥

I had a baby colt show up by complete surprise today, upon contacting my vet and after buying $200 worth of books I discovered that basicly you do nothing for the first two weeks except handle it, handle it, handle it!! Wrap your arms around it, pet it, love it, and play with its ears lots! No pressure on its back to let its hips settle in, but other than that rub him down, legs, everything. After about two weeks you should work on haltering him and he should be wormed around then. Keep the paddock and stall super clean because they are suseptable to worms, keep worming him every two weeks, shots after three months and Momma will feed him the first couple months. Get her on a good mare and foal grain if she isn’t already and other than that you’re good to go. Have fun, I know I will be!!
