Is this why the media are giving Burma such a bad press?
It’s not unknown for the US government and its “allies” to offer help to counties in distress as a cover to install CIA spies and saboteurs in that country. Is it therefore perfectly understandable that countries will accept food and medical supplies from outside but will not allow foreign personnel to come in.
Is this why the media are giving Burma such a bad press? As nothing more than a political expedient in support of the CIA?

A word to the wise - I posted a question about Burma a while back and only one person answered - turns out everyone else calls it Myanmar, apart from us Brits

I think you are way off base here. Maybe its because they have thousands of bodies floating in rivers and people starving to death. Or maybe its because the militant government is refusing the proper aid. The United States is not the devil. If we don’t give aid we are considered bad. If we do give it, people like you don’t like it and call us evil! What is the US to do? Sorry we are not coldhearted. Take a look at yourself though!

I heard it has something to do with area 52 and the JFK assassination…
Burma is afraid of that, but more specifically they are afraid of importing western ideas into their country that will undermine their military dictatorship. Also, they want to be seen as the source of Burma’s rescue/survival, not foreigners

The US refused any international aid during the New Orleans hurricane, they should get off their moral high horse and practice what they preach.

Sometimes countries do not want to show the world their incompetence in certain situations.
New Orleans as Johno mentioned is a good example.

No… they’re giving Burma a bad press because Burma is being psycho and paranoid and not letting us in to help them.

While not defending the abysmal foreign policy of my country, reports say even the supplies the junta has accepted are being confiscated for military purposes and not being distributed to people in need.
The people of Myanmar are being oppressed under a truly foul, reprehensible government.
