I wanted to know if there are any Nurse Practitioners who own clinics? If so, what are their gross salaries?
I wanted to know if anyone knew of any nurse practitioners who owned their own clinics by themselves or with someone and how much they make salary wise after all bills are paid, medical supplies and equipment are bought, etc? Also, how long did it take to establish the practice/clinic and any other information about owning your own practice. Thanks

A nurse practitioner cannot work independently but must ALWAYS have a collaborative agreement with a physician. Check the laws of your State to find the specific requirements in your state.
The amount that is made depends on many factors:
1. The contract that is negotiated with each of the insurance companies.
2. How hard you wish to work - Are you willing to put in 12-15 hour days? Or..do you wish to work 8 hour days?
3. You can figure that start-up costs alone with supplies and equipment to be at least $100 - $150K
4. A start-up of a newly established clinic could take off quickly IF established in an area where there are not many clinics or where there is a lack of primary care physicians. Otherwise, plan for at least 18 - 24 months or more til you are well-established. Mother M
