(a) Are you a qualified journalist or just a contributor? A qualified journalist must be paid according to his/her grading, whilst a contributor can be paid a fixed rate (which is less) per 100 words or 1000 words. Sometimes paid on a per word basis. (b) What is the journal, paper or magazine you are writing for. (c) How long did the research take prior to the article being written. (d) How often you have written for that journal etc. (e) The country you are in. Sorry, but it is difficult to give you an exact figure as you gave insufficient information.
