How do you become a medical transcriptionist?

I am looking to make a decent salary working from home, and no, I’m not looking for a get-rich quick scheme, or something like it. What kind of training goes into being a medical transcriptionist and how can a person find a job doing it? If any anybody knows, I would appreciate hearing from you!

I would check with . I am doing an online program with them and they are awesome!! They also help you find a job afterwards. Medical transcriptionist train just like any medical student would in the beginning, expect anatomy and psychology. You will know the body inside and out by the time you are done. Rachel

I worked as a MT from home for 13 years.
Almost no one is able to “jump” into medical transcription unless they are already deeply involved in the medical profession, and even those whose terminology skills are excellent are often surprised to find transcription very difficult. If you already know medical terminology and have good grammar skills, you are more than halfway there. I would recommend taking a course either at a community college or via home study. This typically takes about 2 years.

You could setup a blog or website, this is completely free. Once you have added some good content, you can start to earn money from advertising. I know you wont make a huge income from this, but it would get you started working from home.
Pick a topic which you are very interested in, and write a piece on that everyday. FW

I have this job, I took an online course to qualify. that’s how you become one, you take a course. I am not going into all that the course entails, just go there and read it yourself.
