For some technologies, especially those involving complex procedures and high tech equipment, there is a limited supply of health care providers that can perform these. Many require very skilled physicians that have become highly specialized in a certain area. Other advancements are more in actual devices that are extremely expensive and the other places that have them are very large medical institutions.
