Does Washington State have Medical Marijuana Dispensaries like CA and OR?

The laws in WA seem to read that when you have a medical card and are prescribed marijuana, you designate a person to grow/supply you. From my research it looks like there are only 1 or 2 dispensaries in WA state, and they seem to be testing a grey area in the laws there. Does anyone know if this is correct? Are there dispensaries there that I’m unaware of besides the one in Spokane?

Being a Washington State resident, and having qualified for MMJ, it is my understanding that it is legal to use Medical Marijuana for certain medical conditions, but it is NOT legal to obtain it. You have to have someone you know give it to you. And if you are like me, you don’t have such a person who will give it to you. One view I heard said that it is legal to buy it, but it is not legal for another person to sell it to you. So, if you were to be involved in such a transaction, you could be charged with Conspiricy to commit a crime. Also, you can grow your own MMJ, but even there, if you want it to be legal, as I do, you cannot buy the seeds.

I’m glad you raised this issue. It is not understood by many people in Washington State. It is as though the whole MMJ Legalization Law we have is a big joke! “You can use it to help with your medical problems, but you can’t legally obtain it.”
