Does Canada have any oversupply of physicians, medical supplies, or medical equipment?

medical supply
Hurricane Julie asked:

A lot of people are against Universal Health care in the U.S. because they fear that waiting lines would be very long. But I read that we currently have about 30% oversupply of physicians, medical equipment and supplies, while the demand is expected to raise by only 15%. =/

I don’t know where you get your statistics, but it getting an appointment with a specialist doesn’t indicate there is any surplus. I live in southern Ontario, and we only have one MRI machine in 3 counties. Hardly a surplus. Our government chose to go socialized medicine 40 years ago, and it costs us dearly in our taxes. We are basically a free enterprise nation, and the government screws it up everytime. It is great coming out of the hospital with no Dr. bills, and low med costs, but we pay for it dearly on a daily basis.
