Is this just business or is it illegal? In the course I am taking, we are required to purchase certain supplies for the course, uniforms, medical supplies, etc. We are required to have these items.

The vendor, a medical supply store, is one mile from the campus. The medical supply store is open to the public and these exact same supplies or 40-50% cheaper in the store than on campus.

The college bookstore handles all financial aid transactions and also all cash transactions for the books, supplies, uniforms, etc for the campus. The bookstore officials sent out an email saying that if the medical supply store allowed cash paying students to purchase their supplies at the store, the medical supply store would be dropped as an approved vendor.

How can this be legal? No contract was signed between the store and the bookstore/college. All students are required to purchase these required items from the bookstore. This purchase is made at a 40-50% increase.

Does this not fall under some type of monopoly law or price discrimination law?

Next thing, they will say that I cannot go to Walmart to purchase my pen and paper.

Is this legal or just business?

I worked for a medical supply company for a very brief period of time earlier this year. I stopped working for them in early April and was told they would send shipping tags for the company property I had in my possession. I have yet to hear anything from them over 4 months later. I would like to sell or dump this stuff, but don’t want any legal recourse. I live in CA and the company is based in FL, there is no local representation for the company. Any advice?

The laws in WA seem to read that when you have a medical card and are prescribed marijuana, you designate a person to grow/supply you. From my research it looks like there are only 1 or 2 dispensaries in WA state, and they seem to be testing a grey area in the laws there. Does anyone know if this is correct? Patients may be satisfied in America, but not everyone gets to be a patient. 47 million are uninsured and are rarely patients - until it’s too late. In the rest of the Western world, everyone and anyone can be a patient because everyone is covered. And there are even more Americans who keep themselves out of the system because of cost - in the United States, 24 percent of the population did not get medical care due to cost. That number is 5 percent in Canada, and 3 percent in the UK.

The fact that the healthcare system in an impoverished nation crippled by our decades-old blockade (including medical supplies and drugs) ranks so closely to ours is ridiculous.
Although Cuba ranks lower overall than the United States, it still has a lower infant mortality rate and longer life span.

Cuba offers healthcare to absolutely everyone!

I am pregnant, single, have an excellent job & insurance. The father and I broke up; he went back to his ex-old lady and made it clear it’s over between us. I have notified him that I am pregnant, thinking it’s the right thing to do. Now he is demanding medical proof. I have it, would like to supply it. What I want to know is, can he get access to my medical records involving this baby? Do I need to supply proof to him legally? I don’t want to be a beeyotch to him, I just want to protect myself and my baby and do the right thing at the same time. I don’t want to cut him off if he wants to be a Dad, but I’ve never been able to carry a baby full term, this might be my last chance (I am 47) I just don’t need anything upsetting me right now. I heard from a mutual friend that 1 yr ago he made his old lady get a 2nd trimester abortion because he “wasn’t ready to be a father;” I fear he might try to get custody since I am single.
