e asked: My employer is asking for a medical exam. I thought by law they had to provide one for me but I guess since I’m foreign their not worried about following laws and I don’t think theres much I can do besides quit or get a medical check up. Even if I quit, I want to get my blood checked etc.
Can I go to a small local clinic or do I have to go to a big hospital?
How much will this cost if I have national insurance?
They will check blood sugar levels right?

My mother in law is here in Japan on a short term visa(3 months). She had sprained her hand in India while coming here and is bothering her a lot. We heard that it would be very costly in the hospitals without medical insurance. As she might need to take xray and other medicines. We would like to know how we can take medical insurance for foreign nationals on short term visa in Japan. I thank u in advance for answering my query.
