There has GOT to be some kind of program for students who have diabetes and go to school full time. I am not going to a regular university so they dont have medical aid. Theres no way in hell I can afford $150 a month for insulin and $200 a month for test strips or any of that. I was thinking about the everyone benefits program but that only pays a small percentage of the cost. Are poor diabetics just meant to fall over and die or what? I do not think so! What do all you other no insurance diabetics do out there to afford your supplies, any one know of anything at ALL that would help me?

I was just diagnosed with diabetes. Can anyone tell me where to go for help with diabetic supplies cheaply?

My dad recently died from complications of diabetes. I found these things among his medical supplies. Does anybody know what they are for and if I can make any use of them, they are all creams or gels:

Fluocinonide
SilvaSorb
Proshield Plus
Iodosorb

He had a lot of foot and leg problems, I think they may have been for that.

My father has lived with me at my apartment since January. In April he filed for disability, but since that takes several months, he has had no income. I have been paying for medical supplies, I have paid for his clothing, food, gas, cell phone, taken time off work, etc to make sure he is getting the proper care. I was told I could claim him as a dependant on taxes, but I have never known anything about taxes. Any ideas? (Texas)

I’m from Mexico City. I’m taking a vacation with a diabetic patient . We’re carrying all the medical supplies for this concern. However, I’m curious about the need of a prescription in case an emergency shows up and we have to buy something else while being there. Thanks. BTW, do we need to follow any protocol on customs at the airport?

My mother recently passed away and now I have to donate or dispose of her diabetic machines and supplies, numerous syringes, adult diapers, and other such items. I would love to be able to donate these items to a worthwhile charity. If not, I need to dispose of them but need to know how to do this as well. I mean, one shouldn’t just throw insulin syringes in the trash.
