Can I fly from Guatemala Cty to Quetzaltenango?

I have only forun one reference to flying to Quetzal, and I forgot to bookmark the page. All other websites I’ve found recommend bus travel. I’m leaving early Dec, and am travelling with 140 lbs of medical/school supplies. Sure would be easier to fly than bus.

I dont know about flying but its only a four hour bus ride (as you may have read) so thats probably the easiest to arrange. There are also private shuttles that are not that much more expensive run by companies like Adrenalina Tours… I reccomend contacting Tom (very helpful American expat) at XelaPages: . He knows everything, and what he doesn’t, he can find out for you.

There was an airline that had daily flights to Quetzaltenango. Its name was Inter Regional (operated by TACA). You can ask if they still have that service. If not, Quetzaltenango is not that far away from Guatemala city, and the scenery in the road is amazing. I will recommend you going by bus or in tourist shuttles that dont cost that much.
