Plantain leaf, as in the weed that's in most garden. Works every time. It's known for this in the herbal world. Great for nose bleeds too. I cut myself, badly, 2 days ago. Chewed the leaf up slapped in on and applied pressure. It stopped the bleeding in a few minutes.

I also mixed turmeric with honey (raw is best with more antimicrobial healing properties) spread it on the wound and put a bandage on it. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and an antiseptic. Also helps with pain.

You can get plantain leaf tincture to keep on hand and apply that. The alcohol in the tincture will also help clean the wound. I prefer using the dried or fresh leaf and chewing it to make a poultice. You can purchase the herb on-line or most larger natural food store will have the herb in bulk.

1. apply pressure to the wound
2. elevate the wound
3. apply tourniquet if absolutely necessary. If a tourniquet is necessary get medical help as soon as possible.

You can cut a couple "butterfly bandages" from tape and hold the cut together that way.
