A worried kid asked: Dear All,
Please help. After a C-spine surgery, my dad became very illed and need home care. I need to buy a electric bed ( hospital bed) and a good wheelchair for him. All I found are websites, which I wish to visit the real store before I make my purchase.
I did some research. Still not finding any large medical supply stores carry electric beds and wheelchairs. If anyone of you know, please kindly give me some directions. Prefer cities: San Francisco, Palo Alto, Mt View, Santa Clara, San Jose, Fremont, Milpitas or somewhere not too far from these cities!
Thanks a lot!
Thanks to misskatp!!
IT happened too fast so we didn’t know what to do as of now. He was sent to emegerncy room couple weeks ago and had his surgeries done afterwards. He is retired so he doesn’t have income. And he owns one small townhouse so we were told social service will not kick in. We are expecting a big bill from our PPO insurance company and I am trying to collect more source for his future needs. If anyone one has idea about what to apply or where to get help, please tell me. Thanks a million!

David O asked: Does it really cost that many thousands upon thousands of dollars for medical equipment and supplies? Do hospitals have to pay enormous insurance premiums? How do hospitals justify charging people hundreds of dollars for simple things like examinations and hundreds of thousands of dollars for treatments?

xitsmike asked: I was inspired after reading the New Yorker article about the medical marijuana economy in California. I have always wanted to find work that will make me happy, which for me would be doing something where I produce something of value to society through my own skill, intelligence, and labor; something that does not contribute to corporate profit-earning or harming people or the planet; and where others are friendly and like-minded. I am not an avid smoker - barely an occasional one - but I want to work for a marijuana grower in northern CA.
Does anyone know how - or know of anyone who does or has done it - I would go about getting into the work. I am not talking about a temporary stint picking and carrying the stuff, or working in a basement operation, but actually living on land with an outdoor crop and working the land from start to finish. From what I understand there are many which operate more or less legally by CA law and supply the medical shops.
Please do not flame this post. I don’t care what your opinion of the idea is, so please only answer if you know about finding work.

New_Mommy of 2 asked: Just kidding. Im having a halloween party and need to find out where I can buy about thirty 35cc or 60cc syringes for jello shooters. Maybe a vet or medical supply company? I really would rather just go out and buy them verses buying them online.

Tari17 asked: I wanted to know if anyone knew of any nurse practitioners who owned their own clinics by themselves or with someone and how much they make salary wise after all bills are paid, medical supplies and equipment are bought, etc? Also, how long did it take to establish the practice/clinic and any other information about owning your own practice. Thanks

mad max asked: I know they paid into the insurance through their taxes - but there are too many war babies. Perhaps limiting their care and just supply them pain killers is the answer.

CaptainFreon asked: What happened to self reliance… You know getting a job and/or buying insurance? What happened to getting married and then planning a family after your ability to properly care for them is established? Why should I have to pay for YOU just because your loins cry forth a need to have babies? (or leave seed if a man).

There are many long answers that people put a great deal of time. Whether I agree or not, some of these folks put some real effort into answers. All are invited to read my profile.
Dan, I do hope your comment about killing me was not a real one. Stress can tear a man apart and make him say things he really did not mean.
