Carlos H asked: Is this just business or is it illegal? In the course I am taking, we are required to purchase certain supplies for the course, uniforms, medical supplies, etc. We are required to have these items.
The vendor, a medical supply store, is one mile from the campus. The medical supply store is open to the public and these exact same supplies or 40-50% cheaper in the store than on campus.
The college bookstore handles all financial aid transactions and also all cash transactions for the books, supplies, uniforms, etc for the campus. The bookstore officials sent out an email saying that if the medical supply store allowed cash paying students to purchase their supplies at the store, the medical supply store would be dropped as an approved vendor.
How can this be legal? No contract was signed between the store and the bookstore/college. All students are required to purchase these required items from the bookstore. This purchase is made at a 40-50% increase.
Does this not fall under some type of monopoly law or price discrimination law?
Next thing, they will say that I cannot go to Walmart to purchase my pen and paper.
Is this legal or just business?

nimrod asked: Denying and restricting the right to clean drinking water, deliberately destroying the sanitation systems of a neighbour and bombing the power stations of an adjacent nation. Putting in place a naval blockade that starves a country of a the goods that a nation needs to be able to feed itself, and the medical supplies to care for its people. Denying a country’s right to have international flights and consistently and deliberately for no reason, destroying the agricultural land and crops a country would need to survive. What would these actions be called ?
These are well documented facts, deny them all you like, its Israel that invented modern terrorism and sustains itself using the same means, you would think they should know better. You don’t need a history lesson. its unfolding before your very eyes, on TV with your meal on your knee.

{{{Goldphish}}} asked: My daughter gets a lot of medical supplies and one day I looked in our trashcan and realized that most of what we throw away can be recycled. I was raised on recycling, and now I’d like to carry that tradition over to my own little family. Does it cost money and how do I go about starting this?

Brian M asked:
I’m a cancer survivor, last diagnosed back in 2002. I’ve been “in the clear” since completing treatment in the spring of 2003. I tried to apply for life insurance just before the 5-year mark after completion of treatment, and was denied coverage. I heard at one point that once you pass 5 years since your last cancer, you don’t need to supply that information if applying for life insurance. Is this true? I have my suspicion that information was confused there, that it’s merely a better chance to obtain life insurance at a better cost if it’s been 5+ years since last diagnosis. I have a long health history prior to the cancer 6 years ago, so it is my hope that I can go by only supplying my family doctor’s records from the past several years, so I have a better chance at getting coverage. But, I don’t want to scam the system either. Any advice on whether full health history needs to be provided would be greatly appreciated!
