I need advice on hows best to approach my GP regarding getting better equipment for my medical condition.

I currently use butterfly needles for my subcutaneous infusion, and have been told to ask for an alternative as butterflies are too painful and intrusive. It has been recommended I have Thalaset or Softset needles, I have asked the district nurse but she said I’d have to refer back to my GP. I know he is going to say I will have to have them on prescription because they are more expensive than butterflies, but I don’t see why I should pay! How do I approach this, and get round having to pay for NECESSARY medical supplies?

(There is a drug I could have instead of the sudcut infusion, but I have to have the infusion “because of lack of funding, that is why I am adamant I am not paying for the needles on prescription, if I have to pay, I want it to be for the oral version of the stuff I have to have injected for 12 hours!)
It infuriates me that there is a post code lottery regarding drugs and equipment, perhaps I could try another PCT? or does it have to be the PCT for the area you live?

So many young physicians I encounter seem to be foreign born and foreign trained.

Should we build more US Medical Schools to provide more American trained physicians and allow foreign trained physicians to serve the countries and communities that sponsored their educations instead of robbing poor countries of physicians to provide for the needs of a rich country that has not trained enough physicians for its own needs?

Now to my understanding the chalk river plant is going to not be producing medical isotopes for quite some time. This has shortened the world supply by about 50 percent. Since medical isotopes have a short lifespan, how are they different from the isotopes and radioactives chemicals used in nuclear weapons? Why aren’t they deterioating or are they? Could we use those isotopes?

There are non-profit organizations that collect donations to raise food and medical supply for starving areas around the world.Some of these areas are facing a lot of violence. Say for instance Burma, countries in africa etc.What if an organization collected donations to buy the struggling people weapons to fight off they’re opressors. So they can stay safe, build an economy, establish a democracy, stop opression from stealing children to make them child soldiers, advance in the world. etc. Please dont give me any “violence-is-not-the-answer” crap.
